Augusta University Band Camp

Monday, June 17th – Friday, June 21st, 2019 | 8 AM – 5 PM | Augusta University Music Conservatory

The Augusta University Band Camp is open to rising 6th-12th grade band students who have at least one year of experience. It provides middle and high school students with intensive musical experiences and plenty of fun. This year’s camp will include the large ensemble, jazz band, jazz improvisation class, masterclasses and electives. Our program will separate middle and high school students as they work on music that is appropriate for their skill level.

SCHEDULE
Monday, June 17th – Thursday, June 20th, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Friday, June 21st, 8 a.m. – 9 p.m. (At 5 p.m. on Friday, the campers stay on campus for a pizza party after
which they prepare for the concert)

Students will eat lunch together every day at the Jaguar Student Activities Center. Lunch can be purchased or students may bring their own lunches.

The Friday evening concert is at 6:30 p.m. and is a demonstration of much of the music the campers have worked on throughout the week. The concert will be in the Maxwell Performing Arts Theatre on the Summerville Campus and lasts approximately 90 minutes. The concert is free and open to the public.

The Sweet Suite Bakeshop Summer Camp Series (Ages 7-14)

The Sweet Suite Bakeshop will once again host our Mini Camp Series!

This is Session 1/Week 1! 
Dates: June 10th – June 12th, 2019
Time: 9 AM – 1 PM, daily
Ages: 7-14

Day 1: In the “MIX” Students will learn the basics of measuring, mixing, and baking a cake from scratch using fresh ingredients, preparing for day #2

Day 2: Students will learn to decorate their cakes from day 1, to create a completed 2-tier mini cake.

Day 3: Students will learn to create French Macarons and Swiss Meringue Buttercream. We will work together as a team to prep and package macarons to present to family members at pickup time.

Camp cost: $160 per student (T-shirt included)
($80 retainer secures spot, with balance due on the first day of camp)

Lunch will be provided on the last day of camp. Students will need to bring their own lunch for the other days. Students will need to arrive in close toe shoes, hair pulled back, and clothing suitable for baking.
