Augusta University Theatre Camp

June 10th – June 14th, 2019 | 8 AM – 5 PM | Augusta University, Summerville Campus 

Augusta University Theatre Camp is an exciting opportunity for students interested in building their acting skills, or even those looking to try something new.

Theatre Camp is a week full of acting, theater games, workshops, audition tips, costuming, plus a peek at what goes on backstage and more! The one week session will conclude with a performance that features the original theatre work created by the students during the camp.

Theatre Camp is open to rising 6th-12th graders.

Students will dine in the Jaguar Student Activities Center (JSAC), the heartbeat of the campus and a short walk from where daily activities to take place. Students may bring lunch from home, or bring money to purchase food from the Summerville Food Court. The Jaguar Student Activities Center offers Slice of Life Pizza, sub sandwiches, Hissho Sushi, WoW Cafe as well as a variety of grab-and go food items.

*Students who attend the Extended session will have the opportunity to work with Augusta University Theatre students rehearsing and preparing for the final showcase.

Summer Camps with Musical Theatre Workshops

MTW is the only acting studio for young, aspiring actors in the Augusta, GA area. MTW students take weekly acting classes during the school year and have many performance opportunities in the community. MTW produces two full length Musicals every spring with their workshop students.

All camps are one week, half day, musical theatre acting camps, including theatre games, improvisation, scenes and songs with a final presentation on the Friday of each camp week. All camps are geared for both boys and girls!

Camp meets daily 8:30am-12: 30 pm, Bring a water bottle and light lunch. All camps are $150, with a military discount $135

Art & Soul Summer Art Camp (Ages 5+)

June 3rd – June 6th, 2019 | 11 AM – 2 PM | Art & Soul of Martinez

Sign your child up for a fun week of art camp. We will have a different session each week Mon-Thurs from 11 am to 2 pm.

Children will complete two canvas paintings, one wooden cutout and a fourth art project (pastels, watercolors, etc).
Each week will have different paintings (projects to be posted soon). This camp is appropriate for ages 5 and up.

The cost is $100 and covers all art supplies.

Sewing Summer Camp: Dolls and Stuffies (Ages 8+)

Dates: June 3rd – 6th, 2019
Time: 10 AM – 3 PM

Your kids will have “sew” much fun this summer, building confidence while learning a life skill! Open to ages 8 and up.
Projects include cloth doll, accessories and a stuffed animal.  Beginners are welcome! Pack a sack lunch. Seats are limited.

The cost of the camp session is $260.
Sewing kits and machine use included.

2019 Lucy Craft Laney Summer Camp

Week One: June 3 – 7, 2019
Week Two: June 10 – 14, 2019

Time: 9 AM – 1 PM

The Lucy Craft Laney Museum of Black History is excited to announce its annual summer camp to be held in two sessions, June 3-7 and June 10-14. The camp will expose students to the cultural side of Augusta. Some of the programming for the week will include art classes by phenomenal local artist Salonika Rhyne, ballroom dancing lessons by local dance maestro Seve’, etiquette classes by museum Executive Director Christine Miller-Betts, a puppet class conducted by B & B Puppet Company, a visit to the Thompson Family Farm, a workshop conducted by the Savannah River Ecology Lab and an African American History Scavenger Hunt to take place in the historic Laney-Walker neighborhood.

Cost: $25.00 per student per week.
The $25.00 is payment for one student for one week. A new group of students will enter the camp during Week Two.
