About this exhibition:
“Stephanie “Ham” Willingham and Cee “Payasa” Moses are an unlikely duo who take different approaches to art and life.As the operations directors at the Jessye Norman School of the Arts, the two have found commonality in their passion for art and teaching, and their dedication to their craft.
Ham draws inspiration from the natural world, using flora and fauna as a springboard for her current body of explorative pieces pieces. Paying particular attention to to color, form, and texture, she creates expressive and dynamic compositions featuring animals and plants to reflect a sense of connection from the natural to the spiritual realms.
In contrast, Cee draws from technological and futuristic aesthetics create work that is both cerebral and emotional. She often uses the contrast of the technical and human, emotional and logical, cold and warm (both in color and in concept) as integral components of her work. In this recent body of work, she has used abstraction in order to access the realm of the spiritual and emotional in a meditative and non-representational form.”
