Augusta Players host Auditions for Mamma Mia

The Augusta Players announces auditions for the third production of their 75th Anniversary
Season, the international hit MAMMA MIA to be performed February 21, 22, 23 – 2020.

All roles are open. Adults 16 and older.

Design, Balance, Harmony…the Words and Music of Stephen Sondheim

August 16th & 17th,2019 | 7 PM – 9 PM | The Hardin Auditorium

Join The Augusta Broadway Singers in a musical journey through the Words and Music of Stephen Sondheim, a living musical genius!  We’ll sing songs from Into the Woods, Sunday in the Park with George, Company, Sweeney Todd, and others!

The concert will be held at the Hardin Auditorium in the beautiful Columbia County Library.  Purchase your tickets online by July 31 to be included in a drawing for the dvd “Sondheim: A Celebration at Carnegie Hall.”

Tickets are $15-$45 for VIP tickets and $10-$35 for non-VIP. VIP includes Champagne and Dessert Reception with the singers after each performance.

Big Blue World Summer Workshop with RTC

Dates: July 15th – 19th, 2019
Time: 9 AM – 2 PM
Ages: Completed 1st Graders – Completed 7th Graders

Join Riverfront Theatre Company July 15th-19th for a fun week filled with Acting, Dancing, Singing, Costume and Set Design!! A Workshop Presentation will be held Friday Night at 6pm! All Workshop events will be held at the North Augusta Community Center! Big Blue World will cover all phases of the Theatrical Arts and is a perfect fit for any child interested in Musical Theater! Opportunities to grow and learn on stage and back stage! A snack will be provided, but children will need to bring their own lunch!

Augusta Players Musical Theatre Summer Camp (Session 2)

The Augusta Players is a nonprofit community theatre. We have been in the entertainment business since 1945 and we know how to teach your kids to have fun onstage! Join in the fun at the Augusta Players Summer Theatre Camp! Each camp is a two?week program for children ages 6 to teen.  During these camps, emphasis is placed on learning the craft of theatre to include what goes on backstage as well as onstage. Each group has classes in music, dance and most important—ACTING! The two-week session culminates on the final afternoon in a showcase where our students will present a program of prepared scenes, readings and musical numbers.

Session 1
Monday June 3-­ Friday, June 14
Session 1 will be held at a St. John United Methodist Church, 736 Greene St. Augusta, GA 30901.

Session 2
Monday June 17 — Friday, June 28.
Session 2 will be held at The Church of The Good Shepherd 2230 Walton Way, Augusta, GA 30904.

There will be a showcase performance at 1:00pm on the final day of each session at Evans High School. A camp t-shirt is included in the fee.

FEES
The fee for each session is $295.00
Master Class: $325.00
Family discount: 2 children – $250 each, 3 children – $225 each (Please call to apply these discount prices)

LEVELS
LEVEL 1—Ages 6-8 (or K — 2 nd grade)
LEVEL 2—Ages 9-11 (or 3th — 5th grade)
LEVEL 3—Ages 12-16 (or 6 th — 11th grade)
MASTER CLASS-Ages 9 and up.

MASTER CLASS (very limited class size)
The Master Class level is for those students who have had prior community theatre or high school theatre experience. Those who have had parts in our own Jr. Players or Mainstage productions will have first choice for slots in this category. For anyone else to be considered for the Master Class, a theatrical bio must be included with the registration form. This year our Master Class will include scene study and monologue intensives. All Master Class participants must bring a prepared monologue and a 32 bar audition from a musical theater show.

HOURS
All sessions begin at 9:30 am and end at 2:30 pm, Monday-Friday only. Campers will need to bring a sack lunch and a snack.

Class sizes are limited  so please get your forms in early. Pre-registration is required in order for your child to receive a t-shirt.

Aiken Center for the Arts Summer Theatre Camp (Ages 6-10)

Explore the world of theatre including how to build a scene, make costumes, conquer stage fright, and develop your character. Walk over to Aiken Community Theatre for a backstage tour. Show off new skills with a live performance for parents on Friday.
