The Jessye Norman School of the Arts, Westobou, the National Endowment for the Arts, and South Arts present a screening of The Pushouts, a film following the story if Dr. Victor Rios who, by 15, was a high school dropout and gang member with three felony convictions and a death wish. But when a teacher’s quiet persistence, a mentor’s moral conviction, and his best friend’s murder converge, Rios’s path takes an unexpected turn.
The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Film Creators at 9:30 PM!

JNSA and Augusta Ballet present Anyone Can Dance Camp!
This is a five-day event in which children will have the opportunity to learn from professional dance instructors. These children will spend time learning new dance techniques including ballet, contemporary ballet and hip hop, as well as the basics of the theater, culminating in a live performance at the end of the camp. Parents, friends and family are encouraged to attend the performance and after-party.
Dates: April 8th-12th, 2019
Cost: $20 ($4 a day)
Times: The camp will run daily from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Jessye Norman School of the Arts.
9am-9:30am – Student Drop Off
2:45pm-3pm – Student Pick Up
Dance Classes, lunch, and snack provided during the day.
Performance on Friday at 2pm. Parents , friends, and family can arrive between 1:30pm and 2pm to watch the show. No Admission Fee for the show.

Every year, The Friends of JNSA host the Ann N. Johnson Vintage Hat Show to raise money in support of the Jessye Norman School of the Arts.
This year, the Vintage Hat Show will take place at Richmond on Greene, 725 Greene Street, beginning at 1 PM, March 23rd.
The Vintage Hat Show is an incredible event where vintage hats are modeled to raise funds for a great cause. Your ticket gains you access to a fantastic evening of fun, great music, fantastic door prizes and of course benefit the Jessye Norman School of the Arts!

This is a free workshop on the movements of contemporary Ballroom dancing. The dance fuses traditional ballroom dance with contemporary music! Anyone who takes this class will feel as if they could now dance to anything. There is no better way to get in shape or have some fun than dancing!
Learn how to ChaCha, Foxtrot, and Rhumba into one beautiful dance!
Join the Jessye Norman School of the Arts as they witness and celebrate the accomplishments of their photography and visual arts students. The exhibit begins May 3rd, and it will display the best work of their visual arts students, taught by Mrs. Sala Allen, and our photojournalism students, taught by Ms. Sarah Pacetti.
The opening reception takes place May 3rd, from 5:30-6:30 PM, at which times the students will present their work and answer any questions guests may have. The reception is completely free and open to the public.
The exhibit will last until May 11th, at which time parents will be able to take the art home.
