Legends of the Game Presents

The Capture the Rhythm Art and Jazz Series

Imagine relaxing in a stunning venue while your favorite jazz musicians perform in front of you. In 2022 countless jazz fans will have this experience across the country, and we want you to join us. Because these events are popular, it’s a good idea to get your tickets early. So get on the phone, grab your friends, pick your locations and shows, and prepare to have a blast!! The perfect way to welcome back our brave new world. We begin in Augusta, Georgia with the dynamic bass player Julian Vaughn who has both national and international acclaim in the smooth jazz world. Vaughn plays with a unique finesse as well as a dose of funk. Our feature performer Euge Groove has a knack for coaxing the max out of his sax, it growls, hits impossibly low notes and always sounds like it’s the way the instrument was meant to sound.” Fierce! A portion of the proceeds to benefit the Jessye Norman School of the Arts.

AU Jazz Performance “Body and Soul”

Under the direction of Wycliffe Gordon, this ensemble provides students with performance experience in a big band and/or combo setting.

Through rehearsals and performances, the participants develop stylistic awareness and performance skills associated with American jazz and popular music. These skills are applicable to a wide variety of jazz styles and improvisational music. The ensemble performs regularly on the Augusta University campus as well as in schools and numerous other venues.
