With an international reputation as one of the most popular brass ensembles today, Canadian Brass has truly earned the distinction of “the world’s most famous brass group.” Masters of concert presentations, Canadian Brass has developed a uniquely engaging stage presence and rapport with audiences. With a discography of over 130 albums and an extensive world-wide touring schedule, Canadian Brass is an important pioneer in bringing brass music to mass audiences everywhere.
Our own Wycliffe Gordon, Director of Jazz Studies at Augusta University, will join the Canadian Brass to kick off the holiday season. Jazz Journalists Association named him “2020 Trombonist of the Year” (13th time!) and Downbeat declared him “Best Trombone” again in 2018. Critics and audiences agree!
This concert is presented by the Harry Jacobs Chamber Music Society and the Augusta University Lyceum Series.

Jazz Vespers is a free, outdoor concert series hosted by Wycliffe Gordon and Augusta University, featuring musicians from the region. All concerts are held on the lawn of St. Luke Church. Though free to attend, guests must have a ticket from gardencityjazz.eventbrite.com.

The Ed Fuqua group is composed of Tim Leahey on trumpet and flugelhorn, Amos Hoffman on guitar, Edwin Hamilton on drums, and Ed Fuqua on double bass.
Memorial Day Weekend comes alive with a jazz vibe feature “All That Jazz”, covering the music from straight ahead jazz, to hot contemporary.
“ALL THAT JAZZ” is a drive-in style, rain or shine event in the parking lot of the BEC PLEX Event Center. Bring your lawn chair or sit inside your car or on the hood and enjoy the melonic sounds of jazz from smooth jazz, to jazz standards, straight ahead to old school R & B. The night musically presents a spellbinding mixture of “all that is jazz”.
This special by the carload event is a unique opportunity to grab your friends, family and all those jazz lovers to celebrate the holiday weekend in a social distanced environment

Jazz Vibe Friday returns with an “Evening Up Close” features Saxman Bo Gardner outside on the patio.
“An Evening Up Close” featuring the Sultan of the Sax Bo Gardener performing his exhilarating mix of instrumental jazz old school R&B and hear him flow with the mixture of jazz standards. Bo will ignite the night keeping the “jazz vibe” going.
