Anyone Can Dance Camp with JNSA & Aug Ballet

JNSA and Augusta Ballet present Anyone Can Dance Camp!

This is a five-day event in which children will have the opportunity to learn from professional dance instructors. These children will spend time learning new dance techniques including ballet, contemporary ballet and hip hop, as well as the basics of the theater, culminating in a live performance at the end of the camp. Parents, friends and family are encouraged to attend the performance and after-party.

Dates: April 8th-12th, 2019
Cost: $20 ($4 a day)
Times: The camp will run daily from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Jessye Norman School of the Arts.

9am-9:30am – Student Drop Off
2:45pm-3pm – Student Pick Up

Dance Classes, lunch, and snack provided during the day.

Performance on Friday at 2pm. Parents , friends, and family can arrive between 1:30pm and 2pm to watch the show. No Admission Fee for the show.

Mr. Fezziwig’s 4th Annual Christmas Ball

The Augusta Players cordially invite you to Mr. Fezziwig’s Fourth Annual Christmas Ball! On December 1st let us take you back to a romantic time when Ebeneezer Scrooge was a young man working for Jolly Old Mr. Fezziwig. The ball will take place in the beautifully decorated Rotunda of the Augusta Museum of History. Come and be entertained by performances from this season’s holiday musical! Don’t miss this fun evening of holiday merriment featuring NEW delectable treats – savory and sweet, libations, music, dancing, a silent auction and a host of Dickens Characters! Period attire is admired but not required!

Auditions for Catch Me If You Can, the Musical

Saturday, November 10th | 10 AM – 2 PM | Jessye Norman School of the Arts

The Augusta Players announces auditions for CATCH ME IF YOU CAN the Musical to be performed February 22nd, 23rd, and 24th, 2019. Great roles for performers of all types. All roles are open. For Adults 16 and older.

Callbacks, if needed, will be on Sunday, November 11, at 2 PM.

Please prepare a verse and a chorus of a Broadway-style song to sing that demonstrates your vocal range and abilities.  An accompanist will be provided, but you must provide your own sheet music unless you are singing from the show (Catch Me If You Can). No acappella singing, please, but singing with an accompaniment cd with no vocals will be acceptable.  A CD player will be provided. If you choose to use your phone a mini-jack (ear phone style cord) will be provided. If you need an iPhone charger style cord, that must provided by you.

A dance combination will be taught. There are different combinations for varying levels of ability. Please be prepared for movement by wearing comfortable clothes. A hard-soled, closed toe shoe is preferred. Gymnastics a plus.

Please bring personal calendars and be prepared to list all conflicts (Mondays-Sundays) beginning with January 3, 2019 through Sunday, February 24, 2019. Please also list your availability on Sunday December 16, 2018 for a read thru. Please do not assume that we know when any general holidays are (i.e., spring break) and plan to list those as conflicts if you will be out of town or otherwise engaged.  Conflicts must be noted at the audition. Only conflicts noted at the audition will be taken into consideration.NO CONFLICTS ALLOWED FROM February 11-24, 2019.

PLEASE NOTE: All principals cast will be asked required to perform at One Night Only – An Augusta Players Cabaret on Wednesday evening, February 6, 2019.
