Saturday Youth Ceramics: Ages 5-14 (GHIA Class)

Saturdays | April 20th – May 18th, 2019 | 10:30 AM – 12 PM | The Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art

Did someone say clay? This class will go over all the basic techniques needed for building in clay. What’s a slab? How do you make and connect coils? What is glaze? All your questions will be answered in this youth ceramics class. Students will create many pieces throughout the weeks and later glaze and fire them to perfection. Bring your creativity and get ready for some fun! *Students must bring a clean towel to each week’s session. All other supplies will be provided.

The Ann N. Johnson Vintage Hat Show

Saturday, March 23rd, 2019 | 1 PM – 4 PM | The Richmond on Green

Every year, The Friends of JNSA host the Ann N. Johnson Vintage Hat Show to raise money in support of the Jessye Norman School of the Arts.

This year, the Vintage Hat Show will take place at Richmond on Greene, 725 Greene Street, beginning at 1 PM, March 23rd.

The Vintage Hat Show is an incredible event where vintage hats are modeled to raise funds for a great cause. Your ticket gains you access to a fantastic evening of fun, great music, fantastic door prizes and of course benefit the Jessye Norman School of the Arts!

The Mary S. Byrd Gallery of Art at Augusta University presents the 2019 Juried Student Art Exhibition.

This annual event celebrates the work of our talent students. This year’s juror was artist Julio Gonzalez, selecting from a wide array of pieces including; drawing, ceramics, graphic design, painting, printmaking, and sculpture.
