Fall Artists’ Market | GHIA

Exhibit Dates: September 10, 2021 – October 8, 2021

Opening Reception: September 10, 2021 from 6 – 8pm

GHIA was unable to present the annual Spring Artists’ Market in 2020 and 2021 and had to cancel the annual Juried exhibition, A Sense of Place. So as not to have an empty gallery space, we are going to have a Fall Artists’ Market instead! Emerging and established Augusta-area artists will display and sell their work in the Main Gallery of the Institute. Works represented will include sculpture, photography, ceramics, paintings, drawings, jewelry, prints, and fine crafts with options to suit all tastes and budgets. A returning component of this year’s Market is the Artists’ Boutique, a gallery section featuring smaller works attractively priced at $100 or less—the perfect place to find an artful and affordable treasure.

“Rumors of Form” Curated by Hasani Sahlehe | Westobou Gallery

Exhibit Dates: July 2- August 14 | Gallery Hours: Mon-Thurs 10am-5pm / Friday 10am-7pm / Saturday 12-4pm

Rumors of Form is a three-person exhibition that explores painting’s influence on contemporary textile practices, collage, assemblage sculpture, and video. Caleb Jamel Brown, Coulter Fussell, and Y Malik Jalal share a Southern upbringing and a deep belief in materials’ ability to possess truth. This notion is revealed by the artists’ reliance on found materials, tying their work directly to their surroundings and previous owners of the objects.

An artist talk and gallery opening reception will take place on July 2, 2021 from 5pm to 9pm.
