Join us on Friday, October 16 at 7PM for “Spooky Tours: Virtual Villains.” This Zoom event consists of both live and pre-recorded videos of folks regaling you with the macabre stories from Aiken County’s past.
Just a heads up, these stories are at times gruesome and involve sensitive topics. There are no happy endings here… but there are fascinating stories to be told.
Tickets for the Zoom event are $10/household. The viewing is limited to 100 households. Proceeds benefit the Aiken County Historical Museum. A link to the Zoom meeting will be emailed as part of your ticket purchase.

Join us for our annual Founders Day to celebrate the establishment of Aiken County on March 10, 1871. This year, the Museum will host several programs on Saturday, March 7th related to Aiken County’s African American founders and their legacy. All programs are free and open to the public with no pre-registration required.
11 am – Introduction of Charleston’s International African American Museum; Speaker: Rev. DeMett Jenkins, IAAM’s Lilly Director of Education and Engagement for Faith Based Communities
1 pm – Lecture on African American Education During Reconstruction; Speaker: Lauren Virgo, Director of the ACHM
2 pm – Spoken Word Poetry, Performative Dance, and an update on Aiken’s Center for African American History, Art, & Culture; Speakers: Eva Jackson and Melencia Johnson of the CAAHAC / Performers: Willie Alma Finnie for poetry recitation and Amber Watson with A.Watt Dance Co. for dance
3 pm – Lecture on The Importance of Commemorating the Founding of Aiken County; Speaker: Wayne O’Bryant, Historian
