This class is designed to teach students essential functions while using a digital SLR camera.
Instruction will include:
- Shutter Speeds
- Controlling Motion
- Exposure Control
- Menu items (such as resolution, file types, ISO, white balance)
Instruction will also include an introduction to downloading, sizing and e-mailing images, basic image editing using Photoshop and taking better pictures using great composition techniques. Bring your camera, manual, and a jump drive to the first class.

Join BERNINA Expert, Kathy Shalda, as we reveal the mysteries of the BERNINA Overlocker L890, & L850 serger. During this two-day event, you will explore the wide variety of stitches and techniques an overlocker can do. You will enjoy hands-on time with the new BERNINA Air-threading Overlockers as you create a sampler panel on day one. On day two, attendees will turn their panels into a fun mystery project.
Techniques learned during the event:
- Rolled hemming
- Combo Stitches
- Creating a balanced stitch
- Working with specialty thread
- Using a chainstitch for construction
- Demonstrations on specialty feet

Meet and create with tailor, Jessica Netzler from local shop SEW.CO and learn how to sew your own floor pouf using repurposed materials from around the home. Floor pouf’s make for a great soft ottoman or fun seating for your home or office space as seen in the image.
Jessica is self taught and has been sewing she was little. She has always loved fashion and growing up she would sew bags and redesign vintage and thrifted pieces. Over the years, she has created one of a kind piece for clients, created costumes for local theater groups, and restored vintage clothing. She loves getting to serve her community in a unique way and helping her clients feel confident.
Session lasts one hour with an extra half hour with questions and feedback.
Supply list will be sent upon registration via email and ZOOM link will be emailed the day before the session.

Tuesday, August 20th, 2019 | 10 AM – 12 PM | My Best Friend’s Sewing Room
Are you brand new to sewing or haven’t sewn in years? Then this is the perfect class for you!
We will learn sewing basics while we navigate the sewing machine. You will learn: following a
seam allowance, reverse stitching, pivoting corners and more while you sew a small project.
The class fee is $38.00 which includes materials for small project. You may borrow a sewing machine.
