Two days of exploration and creativity on this fantastic painting surface.  Using a combination of traditional and experimental watercolor techniques, we will discover the possibilities of this s-m-o-o-t-h paper.  Plan on gorgeous color, unusual techniques and exciting paintings!

Saturday Wheel Pottery w/ Harrison Hickman | 4P Studios

Cost: $360 (Price includes all materials, firing, and glazing.)

All skill levels are welcome!* This class is perfect for the beginner clay student looking to learn all there is about throwing on the wheel – some hand building techniques will also be discussed. Those with more advanced skills will have their lessons tailored to their experience levels. Students will learn to throw on the wheel and how to properly trim your items to prepare for glazing, once bisque fired.

*This class is for adults and mature teens.

Join Westobou’s Artist-in-Residence Joseph Kameen for a four-week portrait painting workshop for adults. Sessions will include lectures, demonstrations, and time working directly from models. Topics covered will include color, composition, and drawing, with the aim of achieving a sense of character, light, and space in your portraits. *Tuition includes the model fee.

The Westobou Artist in Residence Program aims to inspire creativity in artistic expression and community advancement.  The program awards free studio space to an emerging or mid-career Augusta based visual artist for one year at the Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art.  In collaboration with GHIA, the artist in residence will teach a year- long workshop series to community members.  You can find more information about Westobou and the Artist in Residence Program at Westobou.org
