Winter Art Sale Installation | The City Gallery
January 26 @ 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 8:30 am on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, repeating until January 31, 2022
The Greater Augusta Arts Council is proud to announce this year’s Winter Art Sale at the City Gallery. This gallery is located at 535 Telfair Street, at the Municipal Building, and is available for viewing weekly from 8:30AM-5PM Monday through Friday.
The applications this year included new and known Augusta favorites including Rhonda Bryce’s beautiful watercolor paintings, Francie Klopotic’s funky-fun portraits and Mary McCullah’s gorgeous winter scenes including vivid wildlife.
Love the Arts in the Heart branding? Rhian Swain, in-house marketing expert, has also lent her talent to this gallery. Her marketing and design agency, RedWolf, has been in business for more than two decades. Each year she creates a custom painting that is featured in the branding for Arts in the Heart of Augusta. Beyond her work on promotions for the festivals, Rhian also designs all of the Arts Council’s marketing materials. Her paintings have been shown nationally at many different galleries and events.
There were also several notable newcomers to this year’s submissions. Arts Council staff is particularly taken with macro-photography from Tiffany Evitts. Her pictures are stunningly detailed and provide a glimpse into plant life that is so vivid you can nearly smell the flowers and feel the powdery stamen and silky flower petals. We anticipate her work being a crowd favorite.
Notable Augusta resident John Cannon has also lent his talent to the Winter Art Sale. His work will include four mixed-media pieces depicting popular musicians through the decades. The set will be available for purchase as a group or individually.
