The Great Building Showdown: Building History Brick by Brick!

The Augusta Museum of History is thrilled to present the The Great Building Showdown: Building History Brick by Brick! June 30 through July 10. This STEM-event will be on display in the Museum Rotunda and is free to the public. Featuring replicas of historic structures from the Augusta region made completely with LEGO© bricks, entries include: Sacred Heart Cultural Center, the James Brown Statue, Sconyer’s BBQ, the Old Medical College of Georgia Building, the Widow’s Home. Also in display will be the Central Avenue Fire Station.

All creations will also be available to take home through silent auction. Proceeds benefit the Augusta Museum of History’s programs, exhibitions and preservation efforts.

Museum patrons will also have a chance to join in on the fun! It Takes a Village allows visitors to add their own special touch to our community board. From toddler friendly blocks for the smallest builders to more advanced for skill, come join us in building our village!
The Museum will also debut a new scavenger hunt: Hunt for Historical Structures. The activity challenges visitors to find historical structures in the Augusta’s Story Exhibit and learn more about them.
