In Shakespeare’s The Winter’s Tale, King Leontes of Sicilia suffers a sudden, violent fit of jealousy, the repercussions of which are truly tragic: broken friendships, the deaths of family members, and the abandonment of the infant princess on the coast of Bohemia. But all is not lost: sixteen years later, the princess is ultimately reunited with her family in a final act that emphasizes the power of art to facilitate the miracles of restoration and forgiveness.

Speaking Shakespeare is free and open to the public.

A copy of the play will be provided to each student, faculty, or staff member attending.

Members of the public must bring their own copy of the play, or simply come and listen.
