Need something new to read during Social Distancing? The Book Tavern can help you get it safely!
An event every week that begins at 12:00 am on Tuesday, repeating until April 28, 2020
Dear Book Tavern Family,
Over the last few days, we’ve given a lot of thought to the impact COVID-19 may have on our community and how we can best serve you during this period of uncertainty. We love seeing you and our doors will be open regular hours, but to help mitigate the spread of the virus, we’re pausing all our events and clubs through the end of March. That means no Storytime, Book Clubs, Chess club, etcetera for the rest of the month. We’ll be watching the news along with you and trying to figure out when will be the right time to resume larger gatherings.
While we didn’t intend to announce this for another few weeks, considering many of our Book Tavern family may need to be isolated or desire more social distance, we are glad to be able to offer online shopping for new books through our partnership with BookShop.org (bookshop.org/shop/thebooktavern). Using this link, you can buy books and have them shipped directly to your home. While these books are boxed and shipped from our partner warehouse directly to you, the purchase still supports us significantly, and though it’s not as awesome as seeing you in person, right now, for many of you this may be the best way to get your books.
A second way you can get books delivered is to order them through us over the phone or via email. We can look to see if there are used copies in stock, apply credit if you have it on account, and ship the books to you the next day. For sales over $30, we’ll ship them for free. If this option is for you, call us at 706.826.1940 or send us email to email@example.com.
If you listen to audio books, we also offer a service through Libro.fm (libro.fm/booktavern). You can buy single audiobooks or subscribe to a monthly service, and if you switch right now, you get three free books. Just use the code SWITCH when you start your membership.
Our last thought is how much we love you all and hope for your heath and well-being. We opened The Book Tavern to be a community gathering place that fosters thoughtful, passionate, and meaningful relationships in Augusta. In times like these, it becomes clear just how much we need each other. You’ve been there for us over the years and we are always here for you.
If you any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Our warmest regards,
David and Gabi
