Fall Classics – Mozart, Haydn, Handel, and Beethoven | Maxwell Theatre

Music professor, Rob Nordan, of East Georgia State College/Augusta (EGSC/A), hosts the Columbia County Orchestra in “Fall Classics”. Rob Nordan is Instructor of Music with EGSC/A, as well as Music Director of the orchestra. Although this is a concert, it is also a teaching time for MUSC 1100 students of EGSC/A. Four MUSC 1100 classes and other faculty, staff, and students will be present as music featured in the class syllabus, Mozart, Haydn, Handel, and Beethoven, will be performed. This “music teaching moment” opportunity is also open to the public in the greater Augusta, Georgia area.
There is no admission charge, although donations to the Columbia County Orchestra will be accepted.
Compositions to be performed include:
Mozart Horn Concerto in E Flat (K. 477);
Haydn Symphony No. 82 (The Bear);
Handel’s Water Music (arr. Hamilton Harty)/mvts. 1, 5, & 6;
Beethoven Piano Concerto No. 3.
Featured guest soloists will include Dr. Joseph Johnson, Instructor of Music/French Horn,
playing the Mozart Concerto, and Dr. Clara Park, Instructor of Music/Music Theory.
