Closing Reception for The Sharing Project

July 29 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Free

Sunday, July 29th | 3 PM – 5 PM

Join us at the Aiken County Historical Museum on Sunday, July 29th, to honor the closing of our latest travelling exhibit, “The Sharing Project”. A multimedia documentary installation by Winston-Salem based artist and professor Joel Tauber, these videos aim to address the questions of how and why we share in our lives.  The central video details his ventures with his young son to Happyville, the site of an historic Jewish Russian commune that was an experiment on utopian society.  Happyville, which originally stood only minutes from the Museum’s current location, served as home for around 50 immigrants for less than 5 years and is now privately owned land.  The final component to the exhibit is a canned food drive which has been shaped into its own art installation, and will be given to those in need at the close of the exhibition.  We hope to share this event with you as well as your family.
