Children’s Literacy Play: “Holly and the Christmas Gift”
November 20 @ 11:00 am - 11:45 am
One event on November 20, 2019 at 11:00 am
Each year, the AU Literacy Center partners with the Augusta University Foundation and Porkchop Productions to facilitate a series of children’s literacy plays to increase children’s excitement around reading and to increase teacher/parent engagement in increasing their child(ren)’s interest in literature on-stage.
Plays are FREE for both adults and children and are highly sought after by parents and educators across the CSRA.
About “Holly and the Christmas Gift”:
It’s the day after Christmas in Santa’s Workshop, and Holly the Elf finds a package marked “undeliverable.” With great determination and curiosity, Holly sets out to find the mysterious Bahum Bugg and discover why he doesn’t want Christmas coming to his door. Charismatic characters, adventure, laughter and tears (the good kind) highlight this original tale about the virtues of giving and celebrating the differences in others. Appropriate for Grades K5 – 5th.
These funny and engaging plays are based on common stories you can share with your classes before the show – and then let us bring them to life! Shows are 45 minutes and they start at 9:30 AM and 11 AM at the Augusta University Grover C. Maxwell Performing Arts Theatre.
