AU Writing Project Author Series – Carmen Agra Deedy

The AU Writing Project will welcome nine nationally known, award-winning authors to its Spring 2021 series of virtual author talks! Join us by registering HERE. Free and open to both the AU community and members of the National Writing Project.

Author Carmen Agra Deedy will join the AU College of Education on April 26 at 6 p.m. Deedy is the author of 12 books for children, including 14 Cows for America, a New York Times Bestseller. Her newest book, Rita and Ralph’s Rotten Day, was published in March 2020.

Deedy’s personal stories first appeared on NPR’s All Things Considered. Funny, insightful, and frequently irreverent, Deedy’s narratives are culled from her childhood as a Cuban refugee in Decatur, Ga. She is host of the four-time Emmy-winning children’s program, Love That Book! As a storyteller, Deedy has performed across the United States and Canada including the Disney Institute, the Folger Shakespeare Library and the Kennedy Center as well as numerous storytelling festivals including as a Featured Teller at the National Storytelling Festival.
