60 years ago, Guy Sherman Smith was seated at an easel in the studied pf his father, American artists, Cecil Alden Smith. The guidance and encouragement he received from his father set him on a course that would weave it’s way across the Rockies and under the sea. From portrait to landscape. From animation to set design. Everywhere he turned, opportunities to render people, places, and experiences did abound. Translating with paint and brush views blocked by the camouflage of ordinary.
This show represents the distilled impressions that life has made on him. Great and small. Facts and fictions. Friends and foes. Spiritual and temporal.
