The Augusta Chorale of Georgia will celebrate it’s 40th Anniversary Spring Concert on Sunday, May 7th at 4 p.m.. Our special guest this year will be Dr. Roland M. Carter, renowned conductor and arranger of the iconic “Lift Every Voice and Sing”. Artistic Director Dr. Phyllis W. Anderson will conduct the production and Ms. Angela Arrington will accompany the ACOG. The Aiken Civic Orchestra, under the direction of Mr. Adam DePriest, will also accompany the ACOG and soloists.
The Event will be held in the Gilbert-Lambuth Memorial Chapel on the campus of Paine College in Augusta, Georgia.
In celebration of our 40th birthday, we have planned an exciting weekend of activities beginning Friday, May 5th and culminating on Sunday, May 7th at 4 p.m. with our 40th anniversary Spring Concert Extravaganza.
The talent and diversity of our guests this year is remarkable. Guest performers include Blakeney Elementary Chorus under the direction of Director Ms. Sherry Puryear; Columbia County Choral Society under the direction of Dr. Don Cleary; accompanied by Rev. Phillip Hedgecoth; Opera singers Kathye J. Gary, Pamela Dillard, and Isaac Washington Holmes; Gospel Singers Rev. Christopher Leslie, Rev. Patrick Outler, and Dr. Hawthorne Welcher Pop, Soul, R&B Singer Veronica Lynch Stone, and Piano accompanist Rosalyn Floyd, all of whom will be featured in our “Best of 40 years Flashback Performances”. These performers have enhanced our concerts over the past four decades and they are sure to be a hit at out Spring Concert.
