National Call for Artists for The Augusta Sculpture Trail

Starting Today – October 1st 

Open to all artists, preferably professional sculptors, who are at least 18 years of age and reside in the United States. Local sculptors are encouraged to submit their work. Artists may apply up to 5 times with separate sculptures.

Augusta, GA – The Greater Augusta Arts Council, as the public art agency for the City of Augusta, Georgia, is seeking ten leasable, pre-existing, outdoor sculptures to be installed for two years in Downtown Augusta, GA for the Augusta Sculpture Trail.

This cycle of the Augusta Sculpture Trail will provide an easy to follow and accessible trail of art that connects the Augusta Common with the Riverwalk and ends on the 5th Street Pedestrian Bridge with beautiful views of the Savannah River. Other public art installations already in place will augment the walking tour
experience. Four of the sculptures in the current Sculpture Trail have been purchased and will remain as a permanent part of the walking tour.

Selected artists will receive a stipend of $3,000 for the 2-year lease of their work ($1,500 upon installation, $1,500 upon de-installation). There will be a purchase of artwork at the
end of this temporary art installation to add to the City of Augusta’s permanent public art collection. The installation will be in January 2023 and the de-installation in December 2024.
