Lucy Craft Laney Museum of Black History 6th Annual Golf Tournament

On Saturday, May 21, 2022 the Lucy Craft Laney Museum will host its sixth annual fundraising golf tournament.

The tournament format will be a four-person best ball (Captain
Choice) at the Augusta Municipal Golf Course.

Late registration day of the tournament is 7AM – 7:30AM and Tee-time is 8:30AM with a Shotgun Start.

Golfer’s Entry Fee is $85 EARLY BIRD,
good now – May 20th and comes with a one year free subscription to “Golf Digest magazine.”

Entry fees are $95.00 per golfer on day of the tournament.

The tournament is paying tribute to the
50 Years of Augusta National Black Caddies.

Caddies being honored that are still living include:

Lewis Butler, Jessie “Main Man” Ross, Roy
Dean, Horace Dent, Porky Dent, Bernard Dent, Carl Jackson, Jariah “Bubba” Beard, Robert
“Cigarette” Jones, Tommy “Biscuit” Bennett, Marion Harrington, Carl Howard, Justin “Bud”
Jackson, Richard Marshall, Leroy Johnson, Ike Choice, Tommy Smalley, and Jim “Bigboy” Dent.

A Friday evening Pairing Reception will be held at the Museum on May 20th from 6:00 – 9:00pm.
The reception will include beverages, light food, entertainment and a tour of the museum.

All funds raised from the tournament will be used to renovate the Museum’s Administration building,
which is in dire need of repairs.

The Lucy Craft Laney Museum of Black History embraces the legacy of Lucy Craft Laney, a
locally cherished educator, as well as the many Black leaders from Augusta who have made
significant contributions to our community and the world.

The museum is the destination for
Augusta’s Black History.

Popular programs such as the Historic Tours, Art Exhibitions, and
Preservation draw in visitors from around the world.
The Lucy Craft Laney Museum has served as a cornerstone for the cultural and historical
preservation of African-Americans in Augusta and the surrounding area since opening in 1991.

In addition to recognizing Black leaders in Augusta, the museum sponsors numerous community
outreach initiatives that include exhibitions, lectures, youth camps, and tours of Augusta’s historic
Black sites.
