Georgia on My Mind: An Evening of Song with Michael Lasser.

Longtime host of the syndicated public radio show Fascinatin’ Rhythm and author of books on American popular song, Michael Lasser will speak about songs associated with Georgia, which will be performed by vocalists Jessica Ann Best and Alan Jones. A reception with the artists follows.

It’s part of the symposium: It’s a Southern Thing: Culture in the South in the Early Twentieth Century, in partnership with the Augusta Museum of History, the Center for the Study of Georgia History, Historic Augusta, Inc., the Lucy Craft Laney Museum of Black History, and the Morris Museum of Art.
