“Breaking the Barriers” by Rhian Swain Reception and Artist Talk

Friday, July 14th || 11 a.m. -1 p.m. || Augusta City Hall 

Join the Greater Augusta Arts Council and the City of Augusta in celebrating women who impacted the arts in “Breaking the Barriers”” which is a series of portraits creates by local artist Rhian Swain.

To pay tribute to famous visual artists who “broke barriers” in their own right, Rhian began the proves of researching and recreating works in a beautiful blend of their and her own style. Rhian notices a lack of awareness of women who have played and continues to play significant roles in the visual arts worlds. “Breaking Barriers” is meant to educate and inspire.

This exhibition will be on view in the City Gallery from June 1st – August 22nd with a Free reception and artist talk on Friday, July 14th from 11 – 1 p.m..
