AU Jazz and Friends: Smokestack Lightning

This concert will feature live music composed by Wycliffe Gordon, and clips from the documentary film “Smokestack Lightning, A Day in the Life of Barbeque.” This historic documentary is based on a book written about the barbecue culture in different regions of the U.S. The books’ content inspired the making of a film and Wycliffe was commissioned to compose the score. Recorded right here at the historic Studio South of Augusta Georgia, we will have original members of the band as guests to perform with the AU Jazz Ensemble.
