11th Annual Sunshine’s Roast and Toast

Tuesday, October 10th || 7 – 9 p.m. || The Church of the Good Shepard

In continuation of its 48th Birthday Celebration Weekend, Augusta Mini Theatre Arts and Life Skills School will have its Annual Sunshine’s Roast and Toast event. James “JR” Riles, a businessman and community leader, will be roasted and toasted. Each year, “JR,” along with Augusta Recreation and Parks Department, hosts his annual Out of School Block Party. The past few years, it has been held at the Augusta Common (very successfully). During the event, students are given bicycles and computers. JR’s roasters & toasters will be Booker T Roberson, Ken Cone, Curtis Cisrow, Former Commissioner Marion Williams, Chief Ronnie Few, Attorney Keith Johnson and Attorney John Manton.

Proceeds will benefit the theater’s Mariah McKie Butler Memorial College Book Scholarship Fund and Drama, Modern Dance, Visual Arts, and Piano Classes. Each fall, alums of the Mini Theatre are eligible to receive the scholarship at $500.00 per student (for college textbooks).
