We are glad to have the legendary Keith Jenkins available for workshops and private lessons! This is the first of many workshops that he will be having at the Jesseye Norman School of the Arts! Come learn how to play from one James Browns lead guitarist and a natural on the strings! Donations are accepted for the group workshops and Mr. Jenkins is available for private lessons as well!
Born and raised in Augusta, GA, Keith Jenkins began playing guitar in 1986 when he was eleven years old. While in high school, Jenkins encountered the music of James Brown and thus found his passion. At age twenty, Jenkins landed an audition for Mr. Brown and was hired on the spot. For the next twelve years, Jenkins toured the world as a guitarist and musical director in James Brown’s legendary backing band.
After Mr. Brown’s passing in 2006, Jenkins enrolled at Augusta State University and earned a bachelor’s degree in history and secondary education. As a professional musician and guitar instructor, Jenkins has over twenty years of experience and has established himself as one of Augusta’s most highly respected talents.
In this class you will be instructed by one of James Browns former guitarist! Mr. Jenkins will go over the the basics on how to play one of the most popular instruments of today! He has also taught guitar lessons for many of people here in our area!
