Adapted by William Gibson from his own 1959 play of the same title, the film is about Annie Sullivan, the nearly blind tutor to Helen Keller. It was a critical and commercial success that won two Academy Awards, including Best Actress (Anne Bancroft) and Best Supporting Actress (Patty Duke). Participants are invited to bring a lunch.
